For this project, the brief was to install a floor that offers the beauty and style of traditional herringbone in an on-trend palette of glacial grey, while at the same time allowing it to be maintained easily.
A large-scale domestic project, it had a gypsum-based screed with underfloor heating, so all relevant moisture tests were carried out before work commenced. Diamond grinders were used to remove laitance from the subfloor before primer and smoothing compound was applied.
The client required the herringbone to run seamlessly between rooms, which can be particularly challenging with herringbone when trying to achieve uniform cuts throughout the rooms.
The flooring chosen was Karndean’s Art select laid herringbone with a carbon pinstripe border. Once completed, it provided a stunning canvas that truly complemented this beautiful home.
